#37 Toomalor - a shape-shifting creature spawned from a book and is surprisingly agreeable.

#37 Toomalor

Just as not every creature from the World of Stupidity is actually stupid (although they do tend to be reality-warping) and just as not every creature from the Plane of Cuteness is harmless, not every creature from the Door of Horror is necessarily hostile.

One such creatures is the toomalor, an uncanny humanoid with a toothy void in place of a face. Despite their menacing appearances culturally the toomalor have a tolerant relationship with humanity, despite the ongoing hostilities over bottled paineaters.

Toomalor biology and behaviour appears to be highly dependent on the type of book they live in, but even those spawned from tales of horror aren’t hostile. Most are willing to work with humanity for mutual benefit, making them one of the more human entities within the Door of Horror.

In general, toomalor behave according to the effect their tomes attempt to achieve. This means that even toomalor who reside in horror are not necessarily hostile, although they will be interested in terrifying people.

Despite their relatively benign culture, they’re not excessively sought by corporate interests. This is in part because quite often toomalor enjoy exploiting those at the top of the corporate ladder, and in part because of the hostile nature of the door due to the conflict over bottled paineaters.

Original SA Post:

You have summoned CEFFINE from the Door of Horror! She resides within a CURSED DIRTY BOOK and is just here to fuck some stupid rich people and take their stuff. She can take the form of people’s ideal sexual fantasy and if you’re willing to do some leg work and marketing she’ll split the take 50/50. Also she’s interested in movie deals, just saying.
