The seed generator uses an algorithm and a randomizer to give me the basic seed I’ll use to craft an original character. It rolls aren’t set in stone and I’ll play with the results if I feel I need to.
Base Character Attributes
Every character gets a primary “Jock” trait, a primary “Nerd” trait, and a Weakness. The weakness is allowed to contradict a trait — it means I just use creativity to resolve it.
Jock Traits
The “Jock Trait” is sort a primal advantage — something physical or instinctual. The Jock Trait is important as it also provides a base concept for the character design. I boiled it down to five categories:
- Strength
- Speed
- Endurance
- Instinct
- Charisma
If I roll Strength or Endurance I’ll generally make the frame larger and bulkier. Speed or Instinct are wirier. Charisma leans towards the superficial so the character will be made traditionally handsome or beautiful. Since this is meant to replicate a sort of comic-book style character, a charismatic female character will usually be given a generous bust.
Nerd Traits
The “Nerd Trait” is the mental advantage — something intellectual or learned. This helps shape who the character is outside of action. There is also five categories:
- Intellect
- Professional/Skilled
- Artistic
- Emphatic
- Esoteric
Both Charisma and Empathy let the character read people, but while the Emphatic character might not be charming they will have a much deeper read on someone. The Esoteric gives the character special, often forbidden or cursed knowledge. The Professional/Skilled trait not only means the character is good but they worked hard to get that way (compared to the Instinctive who is a natural). The Artistic trait will give the character a hobby if nothing else.
Weakness
Everyone gets a weakness be it physical, psychological or mental.
- Stupid (When combined with Intellect it indicates neurodivergence)
- Hot Headed/Reactionary/Emotional
- Undisciplined (they lack skill and ability outside their narrow areas of interest)
- Slob (can be messy, a lack of taste or etiquette)
- Luddite (no ability to deal with tech)
- No social skills; can be anything from adorkable to genuinely rude
- Fat or Ugly
- Weak (or relatively weak compared to the team)
- Clumsy (or relatively clumsy compared to the team)
- Fragile (can’t take hits/low pain threshold, small, etc)
- Anfractuous – convoluted or unnecessarily complex, may be scatterbrained.
- Addiction/Obsession
Roll The Role
- Minor Reoccurring Character
- Major Reoccurring Character
- Main Character
- Boss Character — mentor, main antagonist, Big Good, Big Bad. Usually gets a secondary Trait to bump up their threat

- Overcome Weakness – character loses their weakness
- Side Switch – character changes sides
- Romance – character becomes romantically involved with another character
- Spinoff – character gets their own series
- Back from the Dead – character is seemingly killed but returns later. May be undead
- Promotion – Minor characters becomes a Major character, etc.
- Demotion – Minor characters are put on a bus; Main characters become Minor, etc.
- Transgender – Character changes their gender during the series/backstory
- Out of the Closet – Character is revealed to be gay/backstory
- Canon Foreigner – Character only exists in certain adaptions
Roll their Team
- Heroes – the main heroes are all female with up to one fifth member who isn’t.
- Renegade Skulls – the Renegade Skulls are equal opportunity villains so
- Royal Order
Roll their Violence
The “violence” really depends on their role — for main and major characters it’s a style of combat, but for minor characters it’s more about the kind of support offered and creative interpretation is required.
- Ninja — Fights with agility and skill. May or may not actually use stealth and ambush tactics. For minor characters this might indicate an investigative or intelligence gathering role instead.
- Barbarian — Can rely more on brute strength and close quarter combat. How much a brute the character is depends on context.
- Gun — Ranged version of the Barbarian, making use of projectiles and explosives. May be more modern military style.
- Technowizard — a specialist in technology, arcane knowledge or both.
- Hero — has a smattering of the four previous skillsets and is only available to Main/Bosses.
Roll the Monster Team
If not part of the Heroes, this indicates which hero team they antagonize or encounter the most. I left this open for additional teams but my initial ideas were:
- Catgirls (currently they’re a Barbarian team, the Wild Hero Catgirls)
- Goblins (not set)
- Slime Girls (currently technowizards)
- Orks (currently guns, the Dakka Smith Orks)
- Tentacles (not set)
- Pixies (currently a hero group where each member has a different violence type, the Power Pixies)
- Monkeys (added early, a ninja team called the Youxia Hero Monkeygirls)
Putting it All Together
After the rolls are made, the rest is creativity. The character’s name will be based off the poster’s handle and may involve elements from their avatar, along with any other elements that are feasible.
I might drop elements that don’t seem important, but they’ll remain in the character database for future use.
This is all very individual and contextual so what I remember on how a character was put together will be included on their page.
